Catalog Sorters

Catalog sorters allow users to sort all visible elements of the catalog based on some criteria, in ascending or descending order.

Only the default sorter, Categories, preserves catalog category hierarchy. When a different sorter is applied, hierarchy structure will be broken to support the new order, and all categories will disappear.

To edit catalog sorters, click the icon beside the Sort By item in the filters panel below the catalog, or navigate to File -> Customize Site, then click the Catalog Sorters button.

Below is a sample setup with three catalog sorters.

The first will appear to users as "Best Selling", and has been mapped to the BestSelling data from the products spreadsheet. Users will be able to sort their catalog by BestSelling data values.

The second will appear to users as "Profit", and has been mapped to a calculation, whose expression is Price - Cost. If a user selects this option, the expression will be evaluated on every element of the catalog (thus determining each element's Profit), and the catalog will be sorted accordingly.

The third will appear to users as "Name", and has been mapped to the CatalogName data from the products spreadsheet. Users will be able to sort their catalog based on each element's CatalogName value, alphabetically.

Resultant sort options

It is not recommended to create catalog sorters that map to store data properties. It is not possible to map to dynamic fields.
