Facing Groups

Facing groups are groups of a single SKU, arranged in N stacks of M facings high.

An example 3x2 facing group of cookies

Facing groups are made by selecting any product not directly parented to a rack or a container, then clicking one of the duplication buttons () in the command bar. Futher clicks of the duplicate buttons will result in additional facing row or columns.

Facing groups are treated as a single entity and are dragged, copied, cut, and pasted as such. They are reported as a single row, get a single LocationID, and a single product label.

Facing groups gets a single product label.

Facing groups may have rows or columns removed by right clicking on it and choosing either Delete Facing Row or Delete Facing Column.

By default, facing groups are arranged with 0 spacing between their elements. However, using a layout on a facing group will arrange its product stacks accordingly. For example, if you perform a Row layout with 4" spacing on a facing group (or a selection containing a facing group), the group's stacks will be arranged to have 4" of space between them.

Reusable Product Groups

You may also define Reusable Product Groups that can be dragged and dropped from the products catalog. These groups exist in their own hierarchy, under the Groups root node in the catalog, separate from individual products (which exist under the Items node). These groups may be private, or they may be shared with all members of your GoPlanogram site.

To create a reusable group, right click a pre-existing product group, or a selection of products, then choose Create Reusable Group. The following dialog will appear:

Group Name is how this group will appear in the catalog. Group names must be unique.

The following three dropdowns correspond with the category / subcategory / subsubcategory this group will belong to in the catalog. You may choose each level of hierarchy from the existing options in the dropdown, or create a new one by clicking the icon. Type the name for the new category / subcategory / subsubcategory, then be sure to click the icon again so it is added to the dropdown.

The subcategory dropdown only appears if you have selected a category. The subsubcategory dropdown only appears if you have selected a subcategory. You do not have to specify all or any categories for your reusable group -- it can exist at the root Groups level.

Last, specify if this is a Public or Private group.Public groups are shared with all users of your GoPlanogram site. Private groups will only appear in the catalog for you. Regardless which option you choose, only you will be able to delete or rename your group.

When you click Create, the group will be created and added to the product catalog Groups tree, in the hierarchy you specified.
