User Management
Your site's users can be viewed and edited (if you have the Create Users privilege) by navigating to Admin → Users.
Not all site admins have this privilege, so if you do not see the Users option in the Admin menu contact another site admin or [email protected] to obtain user admin access.
User Privileges
Upon navigating to this page, you will see a list of your site's active users, as well as the total maximum number of accounts. You can view and modify a user's specific privileges by clicking the button next to the user's name, or create a new user via person_add Create New User, if your site has an available user slot.
Editing an Existing User
The button also lets you change a user's username and auth email. The username is what they sign in with (and must be a valid email address); the auth email is where their two-factor codes and password reset links are sent. The two do not have to match.
A username and auth email belong to the person, not to your site, so if that person also has an account on another GoPlanogram site, these fields can only be changed by support.
Deleting and Restoring Users
Delete User in the edit dialog removes a user's access to your site and frees up their license slot, but keeps their files and history. Deleted users are hidden from the user list until you check Show "Deleted" Users, and you can bring one back at any time with Restore User — as long as your site still has a slot free for them.
When creating a user, you will be required to specify a username, password, and authentication email, as well as the new user's privileges:
The manage_accounts Admin, person User, and menu_book Reader buttons provide suggested presets for user privileges, but you can customize these as needed. Once you are ready, click Create to generate the new user account. The user will have the opportunity to change their password after logging in for the first time.
Note that the Admin preset does not include the Create Users privilege. Because it lets someone create, rename, and delete other accounts, it is best granted deliberately — check it yourself for the users who should be managing your site's accounts.
