Planogram Parts

Things that appear in Plan files

Fixtures

Aisle

A horizontal grouping of Bays that can be combined, reordered, or have Bays added and removed.

Rack

The most common fixture type representing a Pegboard, Slatwall, or Shelving Only section that can hold pegged Product Positions or other fixtures like Shelves and Bars.

Bay

A top-level Rack arranged horizontally within an Aisle, which can hold Product Positions and other fixtures.

Sub-Rack

A nested Rack within another fixture, such as a Pegboard section inside a Shelving Only Bay or on a Bar.

Shelf

A fixture that attaches to Racks to hold Product Positions, Containers, or Groups.

Container

A fixture that attaches to Racks, Shelves, or Bars to hold Product Positions, with optional resize layout to fit items uniformly.

Bar

A fixture that attaches to Racks to hold Product Positions or sub-fixtures like Containers and Sub-Racks.

Surface

A fixture used when Product Positions require depthwise placement, such as arranging folded clothes on a table or frozen food in a coffin case.

Peghook

A defined hook type used by Product Positions when affixed to Pegboard or Slatwall Racks or Bars, with properties like length, slant, and prong count.

Planogram Content

Product Position

One or more facings of a product arranged in rows and columns, placed on fixtures like Racks or Shelves.

Sign

An merchandising POP image element placed on the planogram, often attached to a fixture.

Header Sign

A sign that attaches to the top of a Rack or Aisle, typically used for category or section identification.

Group

A collection of items (Positions, fixtures, etc.) that move, copy, and paste together as one unit; can be saved as a reusable Component.

Filesystem Types

Plan

The primary file type containing fixtures like Racks and Shelves, along with Product Positions.

Project

A collection of Plans for bulk operations, item replacements, cross-plan reporting, and easy navigation between related planograms.

Store Plan

A floor layout that positions multiple Plans with location and angle information to represent a full store.

Store Data

A data set (sales, inventory, etc.) that can be bound to Plans for analysis, heatmaps, and reporting calculations.

Assortment

A saved set of catalog items with customizable filters or item lists, used to filter the catalog or populate Templates.

Template

A rule-based file that automatically generates planogram content by placing items from Assortments into defined regions.

Component

A reusable Group of products, fixtures, or other elements saved to the Filesystem; can be shared and used across multiple Plans.

Catalog

Catalog

A list of items, which site admins manage. Users see these items as a searchable palette of products, POP elements, and other items that can be dragged onto the canvas to build Plans.

Customizations

Configurable bindings that connect your data to GoPlanogram features for analysis, reporting, and usability.

Customization

A user-defined binding that maps data or Calculations to GoPlanogram features like Heatmaps, Labels, or Reports.

Calculation

An Excel-like expression combining data properties, operators, and functions to derive computed values for use in Customizations.

1-1 Mapping

A simple Customization type that directly maps a single data property (catalog field, custom data, store data, or Dynamic Field) without any calculation.

Aggregate Calculation

A Calculation using functions like Sum() or Avg() that operate across all Positions in a display; used in Report Property Sets for totals and averages.

Dynamic Field

A built-in property whose value is calculated by GoPlanogram based on planogram state, such as LocationID, Bay, or FacingsTotal.

Customization Types

Report Property Set

A named collection of Properties, Aggregates, and Breakdowns that define what data appears in Reports and Live Insights.

Heatmap

A color visualization (typically green to yellow to red) that displays numerical data for Positions, useful for identifying performance thresholds or data patterns.

Label

Text displayed over each Product Position showing data or calculated values; multiple labels can be active simultaneously.

Catalog Filter

A Customization that filters the Catalog to show only items matching specified criteria, helping narrow down the assortment.

Catalog Sorter

A Customization that determines the order in which items appear in the Catalog, based on a data property or calculation.
