Topdown & 3D Views

In addition to the standard Plan View, one may also view the fixtures of a planogram in Topdown View or 3D View.

Plan View - Where products are arranged. Fixtures can be arranged however is most convenient
Topdown View - Determines how fixtures are arranged relative to one another
3D View - Realistic rendering of all fixtures and products

Topdown View

The Topdown View is a 2D representation of the planogram as seen from above. This view is useful for visualizing the layout of fixtures relative to one another.

One may open the Topdown View panel via View > Alternate View. The currently active view (in the main canvas panel) may be toggled between Plan View and Topdown View via the Switch Plan Views button in the upper-left corner of the Topdown View panel.

Arranging fixtures in this topdown view will determine how they are laid out in 3D View.

Topdown Plans vs. Store Plans

Topdown View is most often useful when creating planograms for mid-sized spaces of related fixtures -- for example, a clothing rack wall with a few complementary tables in front of it. For larger spaces, it is recommended to instead arrange entire Plan files within a Store Plan file.

3D View

One may enter 3D View by clicking the 3D button in the command button bar

Once in 3D Mode, clicking and dragging the mouse will look around.

The arrow buttons in the bottom right may be used to move around. Alternatively you may use the following controls:

  • W / Up Arrow Key: Move forward
  • A / Left Arrow Key: Turn left
  • D / Right Arrow Key: Turn right
  • S / Down Arrow Key: Move back
  • Q: Strafe left
