Opening and Filtering Files

The folder_open Open dialog is the primary way to browse, search, and open files in the Filesystem. It can be accessed via File > folder_open Open, or with Ctrl + O.

The Open dialog

Navigating Drives

The Open dialog defaults to the Everywhere view, which shows all files you have access to across all drives. Use the drive dropdown at the top to switch between specific drives:

  • Everywhere — Shows all accessible files across all drives, without folder hierarchy.
  • User Drives — Your personal drive and other users' drives you have access to.
  • Shared Drives — Drives shared across your organization or diversity_2 Teams.
The drive dropdown selector

When inside a specific drive, use the toolbar buttons to navigate: Up to go to the parent folder, Refresh to reload the current folder, or click on folder breadcrumbs in the path bar.

Opening a File

Double-click a file to open it, or select it and click Open. If you only have READ access to a file, you may still Open a Copy of that file.

Double-clicking a Folder navigates into that folder.

File Type Filtering

Use the Types dropdown to filter which file types are shown. You can select one or more types to narrow down the list:

Searching by Name

Type in the search bar to filter files by name. By default, the search covers all subfolders. Toggle the Current Folder Only checkbox to restrict search to the currently viewed folder.

tune Advanced Search

Click the tune Advanced Search toggle to reveal additional filtering criteria. These allow you to narrow down results with precision:

  • Contains Part — Filter Plans by SKU or part number. Separate multiple values with || and choose between Any or All matching.
  • Bay Length Range — Filter by minimum and/or maximum bay length, with configurable units (Feet, Meters, Inches, CM, MM).
  • Date Range — Filter by last modified date, using Date After and/or Date Before fields.
  • Last Saved By — Filter by the user who last saved the file.
  • Store Data — Filter Plans by their bound analytics Store Data set.
  • label Tags — Filter by File Tags, with Any or All match options.

Click Search to apply the advanced filters, or Clear All to reset them.

Sorting and Columns

The file list displays columns for Name, Last Modified, and Modified By. Click any column header to sort by that column.

When viewing files in the Everywhere view, an additional Location column shows the file's folder path. Click the location breadcrumb to navigate directly to that folder.

When filtering by label Tags, additional columns appear showing each file's tag values for the filtered tag groups.

File Inspector

When a single file is selected, the right-hand inspector panel shows detailed information including the file's name, type, path, last modified date, created date, and any associated label Tags.

Bulk Actions

Multiple files and folders can be selected at once. When items are selected, the command bar at the top shows available actions. These are the same actions described in the Filesystem Overview, including drive_file_move Move, delete Delete, content_copy Copy, and more. Actions are also available via right-click context menu.

Available actions depend on the selected file types and your permission level. For example, content_copy Copy is only available for Plan and Store Plan files.

Creating New Files

The Open dialog also provides a +New menu to create new files directly from the filesystem. This is equivalent to using File > New from the menu bar.
