Analysis and 3D

Because a Store Plan knows every Plan on the floor and where each one sits, it can answer questions no single planogram can: which areas of the store carry the most inventory, how a shopper's route actually looks, and what the whole assortment adds up to. This page covers the analysis tools that behave differently, or only exist, when a Store Plan is open.

3D View

Clicking 3D in a Store Plan builds the entire store rather than a single planogram: every Plan in every section, including those inside nested Store Plans, positioned and rotated as laid out. Navigation is the same as in a single-Plan 3D view -- see Topdown & 3D Views.

Large stores take a moment to build -- every referenced Plan has to be loaded. Progress is reported as the scene is generated.

Right-clicking any fixture or product in 3D offers to view it in 2D. In a Store Plan this opens the Plan that fixture belongs to and scrolls straight to it, which is the fastest route from "that shelf looks wrong" to fixing it.

Cameras

A Camera is a named viewpoint saved into the Store Plan. Cameras give everyone who opens the file the same starting views -- the front door, the main aisle, the seasonal feature -- instead of each person flying around to find them.

  • Add -- right-click the canvas where the viewer should stand, choose Add Camera, and give it a name. The camera appears on the canvas facing a direction you can rotate like any other object.
  • Rename -- right-click the camera and choose Rename Camera.
  • Delete -- right-click the camera and choose Delete Camera.

In 3D, saved cameras are listed in a dropdown; choosing one teleports the view to that position and heading. If the Store Plan has any cameras, 3D opens at the first of them.

Heatmaps

Heatmaps in a Store Plan colour whole sections rather than individual products, turning the floor layout into a picture of where value, space or inventory is concentrated.

A Store Plan heatmap produces one number per section, so only aggregate expressions are meaningful -- totals, counts, sums and averages across a Plan. A per-product value has nothing to colour at the section level. The Heatmap dropdown therefore lists only heatmaps marked for Store Plan use; build one with the Customize button as usual.

Each section is evaluated against the Store Data bound to its own Plan, so a heatmap over a whole store still reflects the correct sales or inventory figures for each area. Colours are then interpolated across all sections in the layout.

Section Labels

Labels work the same way: a Store Plan label evaluates one aggregate expression per section and prints the result on the canvas. Where a heatmap shows relative magnitude at a glance, a label gives the actual figure -- total products, total cost, linear feet -- for every area of the store at once. Labels and heatmaps can be used together.

Insights

Insights can be run across an open Store Plan. The scope dropdown lets you look at the entire Store Plan, at the Plan you are currently in, or at a chosen subset of the Plans within it -- useful for comparing one department against another without building a Project.

Store Plan Reports

With a Store Plan open, the main button in the Report dialog reads Store Plan Report and generates a report over every Plan in the Store Plan at once, rather than over one file.

Reports can additionally be broken and totalled at the Store Plan level, so a single document can show each Plan's figures alongside subtotals for the store as a whole. Report properties, formats and delivery options are otherwise unchanged -- see Creating a Report and Report Formats.
